Vince Mariotti
Roberto Clemente Museum
Our speaker August 2 will Vince Mariotti of the Roberto Clemente Museum. Mr. Mariotti will tell us about the man and the museum.
The Man:
Roberto Clemente was born in 1934. Had he lived, he would be the age of many SMC members. But he died in his 30’s. Roberto’s record in
baseball was outstanding: Average .317; home runs 240; first Hall of Fame player from the Caribbean. Number 21 played right field for the Pirates for his entire career. Many think his image as a humanitarian outshine his athletics.
The Museum:
Located in Engine House # 25 between the Strip and Lawrenceville. The Robert Clemente Museum tells the story. Normally open by appointment, Vince Mariotti will give a peek inside.
Join us August 2. Might be a good day to don your Pirate shirt or hat.
